My favorite ketchup: Heinz Tomato Ketchup
Heinz Tomato Ketchup is a brand of ketchup by H. J. Heinz Company. It is Heinz's largest and fastest selling product the company has ever distributed, worldwide, which makes it the top selling brand. First introduced in 1876, it remains one of the best selling brands of ketchup. In 1907, Heinz started producing 12 million bottles of ketchup per year, exporting ketchup all over the world, including India, Australia, South America, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Kingdom. Heinz ketchup is often served at many restaurants in the United States and Canada, as well as many other countries. As a condiment for many foods, such as french fries, chips, hamburgers and hot dogs, Heinz ketchup uses the slogan, "America's Favorite Ketchup." Currently, there are more than 650 million bottles of Heinz Tomato Ketchup being sold every year throughout the world.
In the late 1970s into the early 1980s, the song "Anticipation" by Carly Simon was used in its advertising, in reference to the ketchup coming out of a glass bottle slowly (Wikipedia, 2016).
In January 2009, the label design was altered, with the illustration of a gherkin pickle that had adorned the label since the 1890s removed and replaced with an illustration of a vine-ripened tomato accompanied by the slogan "Grown not made".
Most of the world's Heinz tomato ketchup is made in the main US plant at Fremont, Ohio.
A survey by Which?, consumer magazine, recently placed Heinz second from bottom in a taste of 13 branded and supermarket own brands (all the top 3 were supermarket own brands) (Wikipedia, 2016).
Heinz Ketchup is one of my favorite sauces. I love eating it with french fries. Heinz has not only different ketchup types but also delicious Mayonnaise. Nowadays, it is really easy to find another types of ketchup such as curry ketchup, organic tomato ketchup, %50 low sugar-salt ketchup etc.
Especially I strongly recommend you to taste low salt-sugar ketchup. The taste of it is really nice, and it has still the original taste although its salt content and sugar content is low.
As all of us aware, the high salt content is considered as risk for the high-blood pressure, meanwhile the high sugar consumption is strongly related with the diabetes. Considering these concerns, it is better to be careful for salt and sugar consumption.
