Real Lemon Sorbet - Salerno

Last Sunday, we had a sunny day in Salerno. So like other locals, we walked around in the city. After a small stroll, I did a thing which I would like to do for a lot of time: eating lemon sorbet.

The seller of sorbet is kind of a simple place. It’s not a ice cream parlor, they sell the “sorbet” in kiosk which is located in the public garden of the city, Villa Comunale. I heard from the locals that in this place it’s possible to find real lemon sorbet which is made with real lemon. 

As a food blogger, firstly, I have to clear up a fact. Sorbet is not a ice cream. In fact, it is a frozen dessert made from sweetened water flavored with fruit (typically juice or purée). In this place, apart from the drinks and snacks, the only thing that they sell is sorbet. 

The only thing that you can find there is "Lemon sorbet", nothing more.

Due to its big fame, especially at weekends locals are coming to this public garden and enjoying this delicious sorbet. When you taste it, you can easily recognize that they are not using any aroma, or artificial tastes; they are using real lemon for the sorbet. In addition, only sorbet type that can be found at this place is lemon sorbet. So there is not another type. I think that it’s a simple, but quite good taste and when you feel very hot, eating lemon sorbet may be a good way to refresh yourself. 

Here, in the picture, you can see the price list of the products. 1 kg of lemon sorbet is just 12 €. 

It’s possible to take away the sorbet or eat there. They are selling it with cone or in a small cup. Whatever you choose, you are going to pay just 1 € for each.

I will share also some pictures from the garden. It’s the biggest public garden located in city center. Generally, families which have small children prefer going there in order to have some free time. 

 I love spending my free time there. The location of the park is so close to the see as well.
