Edirne is a city not only with its famous mosque, Selimiye, but also its traditional foods. Especially, the fried liver is one of the famous tastes.

*Tava Ciger means Liver on the pan literally which refers frying of liver.
Since, Edirne has a critical geographical position (which is close to the border of Greece and Bulgaria) there are foreign tourists who come to visit the second capital city of Ottoman Empire, Edirne, frequently.
Typical tastes are always taking the attractions of foreign tourists. But it does not mean that they are not interesting for Turkish people. Fried liver, Tava ciğer, has a great fame in all around Turkey.
Due to big fame of this outstanding taste, it is quite possible to encounter a “Tava Ciger” restaurant in other cities of Turkey.
WHAT IS TAVA CIGER?
Tava Ciger is fried liver.
WHY IS IT SO SPECIAL?
Because it is so crispy, due to so thin slices of liver and fried in high quality sunflower oil with flour.
WHAT ARE THE BEST COMPANIES OF TAVA CIGER?
Typically, it is eaten with fried hot pepper, yoghurt and fresh tomatoes.
My favorite is yoghurt and fried liver combination.

Basically, Aydın has located in the city center of Edirne. The first branch, they opened in the biggest shopping center of Edirne, Margi. Due to the central positions of the restaurants it is always popular.
In addition, they serve typical foods and high quality side dishes.
And you can feel free to eat the side dishes such as fried pepper, hot pepper and tomatoes as much as you can because it is free!
