Flying with TURKISH AIRLINES I

After a long time, are you ready for my new entry? I couldn’t post a new entry on previous days, because I was on a trip. I went to my country, Turkey; I’ve visited my family and my friends. I had a great time there. Unfortunately, I couldn’t spare some time for my blog. However I’ve collected lots of stuff from my trip for my followers of my blog. Also, I will continue to share my observations about the foods that I’ve eaten during the trip. Today, I would like to start with the Food Service of Turkish Airlines. 

-During Skytrax's 2011 World Airline Awards ceremony, Turkish Airlines won Europe's Best Airline and Southern Europe's Best Airline awards, as well as the award for the world's Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seat. It is also 7th in the world's Best Airline ranking.-

First of all we need to talk about general service aspect of Turkish Airlines. It’s really amazing. It’s more than taking a plane and flying. The airplanes are so comfortable for the passengers. All the things are designed for the comfort of people. All the details are thought by designers. For instance, the distance between seats is wide sufficiently so it’s spacious. So you are really enjoying when you’re on the fly. The crew and stewardesses are always so kind. So, after the first minutes, you feel the difference and you can recognize that they offer you the things more than a flight. As Turkish Airlines always says, “We are Turkish Airlines, we are globally yours”. 

So my claim is that, someone who takes the plane of Turkish Airlines first, he or she will certainly take Turkish Airlines’ planes again and again. Maybe only the disadvantage of Turkish Airlines can be the prices of the tickets. However, there is also a solution for that. They are frequently making some special offers and decreasing the prices. Can you believe that I bought the ticket lastly from Naples to Istanbul as a round trip and paid 129 Euros?  So, it’s not expensive anymore. Just you need to control often the website of Turkish Airlines and find the best offer which is okay for you. 

So, we can start to investigate the food service step by step. Are you ready :)

 First of all, the menu of the day is given with a small package of hazelnut. As you know, Turkey is an important country in the world in terms of hazelnut agriculture and production. Thanks to its nutritional value and calorie, it's so nutritious. I can say that it's a extremely good idea to offer hazelnut for the passengers. Because generally, passengers are in a hurry on the day of flight and can't eat sometimes anything till the flight. So, thanks to these hazelnuts, passengers of Turkish Airlines can take some energy and enjoy their flights. 

Then you can read your newspaper. For me it was so interesting to read Turkish newspaper before arriving Turkey. Also Italian and English newspapers are available. You can select it from different newspapers.

Now it's time to talk about the menu !! It's amazing !!

On the menu, this sentence is welcoming you; "Welcome to our restaurant above the clouds".

The menus are changeable. In oder to offer different tastes, THY is trying to serve different foods everyday. When I was going to Turkey, I took this menu.

Fried Eggplant with Tomato Sauce and White Cheese  

DESSERT - Chocolate Cake. It was so delicious !!

In this picture, also the main course can be seen. It's served with "pilav" and some vegetables. It's not an easy thing to prepare the foods in order to be eaten in flight. Beucase it shouldn't be neither too much heavy nor too much light. Turkish Airlines achieves it and finds the balance.

What's more, you choose your food from their selection as a main course. The bread is served always warm really. They are giving importance to the compliance between starter and main course as well. Plates, knives, all the stuff are designed especially for the flights. They are not sharp. Also the foods are prepared not with too much sauce in order to provide you the best flight.
