Netherlands and Foods II

After the first article about foods in Netherlands, now it is the second part.

Especially in Amsterdam you can recognize that there are numerous street vendors that sell “French Fries”. Regarding this, Netherlands is one of the most famous countries in the world. You can enjoy your French fries with different shapes, and different sauces. Besides, ketchup & mayonnaise, when you see the varieties of the sauces you will not believe your eyes. I can recommend you to taste curry and garlic sauce. At least one time, you should taste this particular “French fries”.

While walking around  in the city, Amsterdam, it is the best thing to eat "French Fries". But attention ! If your trip will take more then 4-5 days, my advice is that: Do not eat all time it because it has high amount of calories !!

When you consider the geographical position of the Netherlands, you might think that it is very cold country. So, who can say no to some “Hot Wine” and music. 

 In Eindhoven, we came across the street musicians and they were serving hot wine and fortunately it was free. I don't know it was special day or not. However we spent great time there. The hot wine was not special however it was enough to warm us up because it was freezing cold.

Like all other capital cities in Europe, there are lots of Mc Donald’s in Amsterdam. I think that they a little bit exaggerated it in Amsterdam because in every corner you see Mc Donald’s. However we didn’t prefer to eat there while there were tasty French fries in everywhere in Amsterdam.

When somebody talks about “cheese” Netherlands comes to my mind automatically. While we were travelling in Netherlands, we saw from train lots of small manufacturers and farms. Dutch people really give importance to their cheeses and in Dutch cuisine, they have their own typical types of cheeses and they are famous all over the world. I had a chance to taste them during my trip, and I can say that they are so delicious. 

 Typical Dutch Cheese. In this picture, you can see their maturation process. Cheese is a food product that requires a maturation. Maturation time can show diversity according to cheese type. I strongly recommend you to taste "Dutch Cheese" when you visit Netherlands. In some supermarkets in Europe, also it can be found however the taste is not the same.
