Patisserie Sandri - Perugia
Today I would like to share my impressions about the patisserie in Perugia. Almost 4 months ago, I made a trip to Perugia and it was really great. Until this trip, I had been seen lots of cities in Italy except Perugia. So finally I had a chance to visit Perugia! Perugia is a beautiful city and for students it’s exactly a good place. Although it’s not a big city, because of the universities, the population of the students is quite high. Thanks to nice bars, cafes, you can come across students on almost every narrow street. Every different corner, you can see nice places for having fun. Some people are sitting and chit chatting on foot, whereas some people more elegantly sitting on the chairs and taking their drinks.
Besides this culture, eating habit is very sophisticated in Perugia. Especially kinds of meats such as hams, sausages are incredible. Generally they like eating them on barbeque however other ways of cooking can be seen as well. Furthermore, the bakeries, the patisseries, cake shops can be found everywhere in Perugia.
Tip. What is Patisserie?
A pâtisserie is the type of French or Belgian bakery that specializes in pastries and sweets. In both countries it is a legally controlled title that may only be used by bakeries that employ a licensed maître pâtissier (master pastry chef). In Italy, like France and Belgium the place where you can find pastries, is called as “pasticceria”.
Paris- You can see typical types of desserts from the capital city of France. I think that living in Paris means living in different world. The culture of Patisserie was born there.
If you are a tourist and get tired because of long stairs of Perugia, in order to get some energy you can go the Sandri, eat some delicious cakes and take your coffee. Its location is very central. On the main street of Perugia, you can see this typical patisserie, Sandri.
To be honest, it’s a little bit expensive, especially for students, however it worths.
Like almost all Italians, also I like drinking cappuccino when I am having the breakfast.
It'is also one of the oldest Patisseries in Perugia.
Delicious cappuccino! Foamy !! Who can say no to it?!
Here is the location of Sandri. As I've indicated before, it's situated on the city center. Even if you just walking on the main street, certainly you are gonna see it.
So finally, if you want to make an alternative trip in Italy, apart from Rome, Florance and Venice, you should as well as visit Umbria in order to feel the atmosphere of Middle Ages. And if you think of coming to Perugia, you should go to Patisserie Sandri and taste the delicious pastries!
